Joint statement about Ukraine

Since the RCoA, FICM and FPM published their joint statement on the war in Ukraine in March 2022, the College’s Board of Trustees and Council have asked the Ethics Committee to develop guidelines to help decide whether, and how, to respond to humanitarian crises, contentious issues, and requests for public comment.

These guidelines, Criteria for Making a Statement on Humanitarian Emergencies and Other Areas of Conflict, have now been approved. In line with this document, the College’s Council and Board of Trustees have agreed to remove previous statements to ensure consistency of practice and avoid any appearance of contravening the new guidelines. As a result, the previously published joint statement on Ukraine has now been withdrawn.
