He was seen in the pain clinic where he thoroughly assessed regarding his post- surgical pain using a biopsychosocial approach. Physical examination showed allodynia over the ilioinguinal region on the left side and over the scar tissue. Any tension on the abdominal wall made the pain worse (Carnett's sign). The Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs Pain (LANSS) scores were high suggesting neuropathic pain.
