Case of the Month #1: Cramping and Weakness

Differential Diagnosis

  • Rheumatological conditions – although investigated and excluded and rare unilaterally 

  • Nerve impingement in cervical spine (C5/6 corresponding to biceps) 

  • Motor Neurone Disease 

  • Multiple Sclerosis 

  • Myasthenia Gravis 

  • Inclusion Body myositis – although this could be detected on muscle biopsy and usually starts distally. 

  • CRPS affecting the left limb
